A SYSTEMATIC GRAPHICAL METHOD FOR SYNTHESIS OF HEAT EXCHANGER NETWORKS

Heat exchanger networks (HENs) play a significant role in the energy conservation of any process industry. The HENs are used to maximize heat recovery by exchanging between hot and cold streams. Therefore, optimum design is extremely important reach maximum efficiency systems. Many graphical methods have been developed during last four decades for synthesizing (HENs). However, most these only evaluated retrofitting HENs. In grassroots situation, often complicated tedious. This paper introduces new simple approach HEN design. based on single graph called Supply-Target Diagram (ST-D). ST-D formulated plotting supply temperatures versus target Streams matching can easily be applied splitting streams clearly visualized evaluated. A case study illustrate application method
